SUNAPEX Solar Panel System
What are the advantages of MPPT controllers compared to PWM controllers?
MPPT controllers are more efficient in converting solar panel output to usable energy. They dynamically adjust the voltage and current to maximize power extraction from the panels.
Is this solar panel system safe? Will it overcharge my batteries?
Our solar panel system is very safe. The controller includes overcharge protection. When the battery is fully charged, the controller automatically stops charging, preventing any risk of overcharging.
Why did I measure over 20V from my 12V solar panel?
The 20V is the open-circuit voltage of the solar panel. It does not the charging voltage applied to the battery by the solar panel system. To measure the charging voltage, ensure that the solar panel system remains connected to the battery.
At what voltage will the controller stop charging the battery?
For a 12V battery, the controller will stop charging when the battery voltage reaches around 14.2V, indicating that the battery is fully charged. When the battery voltage drops to a maintainable level, the controller will resume charging.
Can this 12V solar system charge multiple batteries simultaneously?
Yes. You can connect multiple batteries in series or parallel. Keep in mind that the combined battery voltage will always remain at 12V. For example, you can either connect two 6V batteries in series or parallel multiple 12V batteries.
