If you upgrade the wiring to 4 or 6 AWG, can you install a 2 pole 50 amp breaker?

You cannot install a 2-pole 50 amp breaker.The 1L & 2L or 1R & 2R configurations can be upgraded to a 50A breaker, but the rocker switches are rated for a maximum of 30A.

Please ensure the power transfer switch is within 18 inches away from your main breaker panel.

Is this suitable to be mounted on the exterior of a home?

Nature's Generator Power Transfer Switch is designed to be installed indoors. However, if you're planning to install it outdoors, please ensure it will not get wet since it is not water-resistant.
