D2 steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel known for its excellent wear resistance and edge retention. While not completely stainless, it offers decent corrosion resistance for everyday use.
Why D2 Steel?
We often use D2 steel in our 704 Gear knives because it strikes an excellent balance between affordability and performance. It holds a razor-sharp edge incredibly well, making it ideal for demanding tasks.
What is Solid-Core Damascus?
Solid-Core Damascus is a type of steel created by layering and forge-welding different steel alloys & enhances the steel's performance. There are knives on the market that are etched or different metal inside. 704 Gear only uses solid-core Damascus.
What is a G10 handle?
G10 is a super-strong composite material made of fiberglass layers soaked in resin. It's a favorite for knife handles because it's incredibly durable, lightweight, and resistant to moisture, temperature changes, and chemicals.
What type of wood do you use?
We selectively use Blood Sandalwood for some of our knife handles. Blood Sandalwood is exceptionally hard and resistant to wear and tear, making it an excellent choice for a handle that will last a lifetime.
